After much consideration, I've decided not to go as a fairy for Halloween, because it's filppin' cold out, nor as a pirate, because thanks to PoC, everyone and their cousin will be running around town yelling "Arrrg!" like a bunch of posers. Instead, I shall go as a Pastafarian. This affords me several benefits:
1) I still get to use my pirate garb.
2) I don't have to freeze my ass off in some skimpy hooker outfit that passes for a costume.
3) I can spread my faith to the Christian/Jewish/Muslim/Athiest infidels that infest my campus.
4) I help combat global warming.

Of course, as I understand the tenets of the religion, non-pastafarian pirates also work to combat global warming too. Which is good.

The Flying Spaghetti Monster loves all of his creation, even infidels like you. I'm afraid you're going to be one of his chosen people whether you like it or not. We're very inclusive. Although I don't know why you wouldn't want to bask in His Noodly glory. After all, our afterlife has a stripper factory and a beer volcano.

You're not the first person who's suggested I participate in NaNoWriMo, and I did give it some thought, but I don't think I can write a novel, and pass my classes, and get into grad school all in the same month.
Hmmm. You may be right. Maybe after you're in grad school. You could pitch it as an independant study option. Grad schools love that.
It's definately something I want to do someday. I just don't have the time now.
